Fucking shit. I was just informed that instead of seeing seminal Athens rock/new wave band Pylon at The Mercury Lounge on November 7th, I’ll be at a “conference” in Maryland. Woohoo! I was pretty excited to hear that the band was playing a few select dates in support of the DFA reissue of their first record Gyrate, but I guess I’ll have to catch them another time.
Combining a bunch of the band’s first singles and Gyrate, DFAs new-ish Gyrate Plus compilation was released yesterday. Tickets for The Mercury Lounge show and a second show at Music Hall of Williamsburg are on sale now. Other Music has the digital version of Gyrate Plus available for download.
