The new video for Shocking Pinks first single, “End Of The World,” shows a dazed and melancholic Nick Harte in a smashed up car minutes after it was wrapped around a telephone pole. As emergency crews work to get the doors of the car open, Harte sings “I wanna take you out / Like it’s the end of the world / Don’t you go” over swirling new wave synths, which are complimented by sheets of sparks flying past his knocked-out girlfriend in the passengers seat.

The stellar, yet heartbroken video was directed by Richard Bell who produced Anton Corbijn’s music videos for Joy Division’s “Atmosphere” and Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box.” Shocking Pinks is out next Tuesday (September 25th) on DFA/Astralwerks in the U.S. and DFA/EMI in the UK a day before. Stream the record over at EMI.
