Sorry for the lack of content on here lately, I’ve been swamped and the rest of the crew has been equally as busy. Anyway, DFA has two of my most anticipated releases in coming months, which include New Zealand’s Shocking Pinks and New York City’s Hercules and Love Affair.
Shocking Pinks is Nick Harte, the former drummer of Brunettes who recently made his live NYC debut on August 15th at Orchard Bar. The 17 tracks on Harte’s self-titled full-length draw from a variety of sounds and genres, ranging from druggy supernatural drones to garage to shoegaze to lo-fi and noise pop. A compilation of remastered tracks from two of Harte’s 2005 albums on Flying Nun titled Shocking Pinks is set to be released on September 25th via DFA. Prior to the full-length, a bunch of 7” singles will hit the streets and can be streamed here.

Another anticipated release from DFA in the near future is Hercules and Love Affair’s debut album. Just last week DFA put out the Brooklyn duo’s (Andrew Butler and Kim Ann) debut single “Classique #2” with the thumping b-side “Roar,” which features vocals by Antony, yeah that one.
