My Bloody Valentine Monday

I’m suffering from a V-Fest hangover today and the weather is borderline miserable. I put together these songs to help me get through the day and I figured I’d share it with the readers of this site as well. Expect a full V-Fest recap from Nghia sometime within the next month or whenever he gets around to it.

I took it pretty easy at the show and enjoyed LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, The Smashing Pumpkins, and those Southern Comfort Hurricane drinks. They give you a pretty nasty brainfreeze. Interpol’s set in the rain and a roller derby game were likely the highlights of the festival for me and it was really great to see that all the cups sold at the event were made from 100% biodegradable corn, which completely compost in about 45 to 60 days. The sound at both stages was also fantastic throughout the two days.

All of the tracks below are rarities, covers, or remixes not found on any of My Bloody Valentine’s studio records. There are some real gems in the mix, like the band’s charity cover of John Barry’s “We Have All the Time in the World” and “Instrumental A,” a free 7″ given with first 5,000 initial copies of Isn’t Anything. For more rare tracks and live recordings check out the MBV Forum and Komakino.
