Thanks to everyone who made it out to another sold-out FRICTION show on Saturday night. As promised, BABY DAYLINER, TIGERCITY, ZIGMAT and FREER rocked our faces off. This was the first time any of us had seen Freer who really wowed us with their melodic and diverse sound. With bouncing-waltz-y keyboards and guitars peppered with a hint of soul and garage flair, this Detroit quartet set the stage for an incredible night of live music.
We’d like to thank all four bands for being a part of FRICTION along with DJ Mother Hubbard who layed down some killer tracks in between sets. It was one of the first times I’ve seen people dancing in between bands at The Mercury Lounge.
Be sure to check back to see all of the pictures from the night. UPDATE: Pictures from the night are now up on our Flickr page.
FRICTION returns to The Mercury Lounge on August 18th with Chicago’s OFFICE and Philadelphia’s The Teeth. Full details on the rest of the show to come soon.
