Digitalism | “Pogo” from forthcoming Idealism LP
Ismail Tuefekci and Jens Moelle, the Hamburg duo better known as Digitalism are set to release their debut album, Idealism, on May 21st via Kitsune. Like their previous releases, the album was recorded in a bunker, complete with thick concrete walls and blast-proof doors.
The band’s first single from the record, “Pogo,” will be released on May 7th as an EP in support of Idealism. The Pogo EP will also contain two remix versions of the song (On The Road To Paris Version and Mentalism Remix) along with the original, which can be downloaded below. “Pogo” offers something different and new from the band, for those of us used to the acid ridden, dance heavy tracks and remixes like “Zdarlight.” It’s fresh, complete with disco hooks, sampled melodies, and reminds me a bit of Tom Vek (at least the vocals), but with more of a kick.
