Fujiya & Miyagi just played the Northwest this past Saturday and Sunday. Reporting remotely from PDX, I had a chance to make it out to the incredible venue last night, Doug Fir. Next to the chic Jupiter Hotel, this modern late night diner was the perfect setting the Brit’s witty electro melodies.
The fairly packed house was jumping all night to the rhythms of the well-received Transparent Things. It was so refreshing to see the masses giving in to the beat, rather than the uber-cool New York scene that occasionally gives a nod or toe tap. Fujiya & Miyagi ended the set with the popular Collarbone, sending the hyped Portland crowd home sweaty and satisfied.
Back in NYC, Fujiya & Miyagi play The Mercury Lounge on March 18th and 20th. Both shows are sold out. More pictures after the jump.

I saw the show up at Chop Suey in Seattle. They were absolutely amazing.
Sure there were mostly nods and toe taps going on here, but my friends and I shook it anyway.
