The Duke Spirit | Covered In Love EP

Tack this on to the growing list of music I missed last year. In December, our favorite noise rockers, The Duke Spirit, put out a covers EP titled Covered In Love via Velo. The four-track EP pays homage to music greats that passed away in 2006 and includes a droney take on Desmond Dekker’s “007 (Shanty Town),” Jessie Mae Hemphill’s “I’m So Glad,” and two songs by Love (Arthur Lee). Leila Moss’s achingly beautiful voice is the real highlight on these four songs.
