It’s Friday! Get HYPE!!!
Hey! I’ve been tapping my toes on plane flights lately to this simple yet effective dance tune from Teenagers In Tokyo or what I like to call them: TITs. TITs sound like a combination of the catchiest parts from your favorite dance songs. TITS are young and fun Aussie 19-20 year olds who have opened for CSS. I can totally see TITs on a label like Modular (with fellow Aussies, The Presets). Then TITS become huge and go on to sell millions of Intel chips and Apple Ipods. But I can’t tell if they’re good looking or not. Check out more TITs on Myspace.
FRICTION celebrates the new year tomorrow night with a night of shimmering guitars, ethereal loops, stereo reverb, and banjo feedback featuring New York City’s O’Death, Mahogany, and Daylight’s For The Birds along with Philadelphia’s Relay.
Word on the street is that in addition to their live show, Mahogany will also have their visual show in tow provided by klip collective. Following the show (since we’re feeling extra festive this month), we’ll be hosting a FRICTION AFTERPARTY next door at Sin-e Bar where David Bruno will treat us to a new wavey DJ set. We figured we’d already be hype and sweaty after rocking out to O’Death, so we might as well keep the party going somewhere close. Mr. Bruno will have us bouncing around like the folks in the “Neo-Plastic Boogie-Woogie” video below. Additionally, there will be $3 shots and $6 shot and Pabst drink specials at the afterparty. This following the open Sparks! bar from 9:30pm-10:30pm. Yikes!
