Goose are vocalist and keyboardist Mickael Karkousse, Dave Martijn on guitar and keyboards, Tom Coghe on bass and keyboards, and drummer Bert Libeert.
Every year there are a few albums that slip through the cracks, so during the last weeks of the year I try and go back and find what I missed. Last year I overlooked Serena Maneesh’s self-titled debut and Vitalic’s OK Cowboy, two albums that I adore.
This year, one of the albums I missed was Goose’s debut LP Bring It On. Released on “pioneering big beat” label, Skint (Fatboy Slim, Lo Fidelity All Stars), Bring It On is a 12-track, 36-minute concoction of bruising electro crunchers chocked full of pounding beats, vintage analog synths, and atmospheric buildups.
Goose have been ripping up dancefloors from Belgium’s legendary Culture Club to London’s Canvas playing alongside acts like Digitalism, Lo-Fi-Fnk, and The Young Knives. The quartet also went on a sold-out UK tour in September and October, gaining them some press from NME and the Belgian news.
