Easy Star All-Stars | Radiodread

I’ve been streaming some of the tracks off of Easy Star All-Stars‘ follow up to 2003’s Dub Side of the Moon, titled Radiodread. Radiodread is New York City’s Easy Star All-Stars‘ “ambitious song-for-song reggae interpretation of Radiohead’s epic OK Computer.” It includes guest appearances by Toots & The Maytals, Citizen Cope, Morgan Heritage, Horace Andy, Frankie Paul, Sugar Minott and others.

I was a bit skeptical upon first hearing about this, but after listening to some of the tracks from the album, I’m pretty excited for it’s August 22nd release. Anyway, how often does one of your favorite albums get reworked as a reggae album? According to USA Today, Thom Yorke expressed his approval for Radiodread on stage during the band’s tour in Philadelphia.

In a rare moment of onstage chatter, Yorke said he listened to Toots & the Maytals version of “Let Down” from the upcoming Radiodread. “It’s good,” he said. (via USA Today)

Easy Star All-Stars has tour dates up on their MySpace page where you can stream tracks from the album. Download the single “Let Down” below and pre-order the album here.
