Cassettes Won’t Listen, aka Jason Drake, has been quite busy since we last featured him on this blog. CWL has brought us a couple of new covers including “The Freed Pig” celebrating the reissue of Sebadoh III, as well as Pavement’s “Cut Your Hair”, which can be downloaded below. Drake has also made a name remixing for such artists as Midlake, Morcheeba, and Dr. Octagon, while future remixes will include Asobi Seksu, Honeycut, and The Diggs.
Gorilla vs. Bear has been playing CWL on his weekly Sirius Blog Radio show and also has an exclusive CWL remix of Midlake’s “Young Bride”. Get it here. Additionally, Stereogum has a Roger O’Donnel remix of “Cutting Balloons” available for download.

I wonder if his live show has improved though. He was dreadful when I saw him at Pianos a while back. I still love Cutting Balloons though.

I agree, Cutting Balloons is a great song. But I disagree about the live show, when I saw him at Sin-e it was just him on keyboard, guitar, turntables and vocals (I think thats it). Theres not that many people out there doing that sort of thing, and he pulled it off. Im definitely coming to see the show next month
