crackerCAM was on location in flushing, queens for… dumplings? as a mecca of chinese cuisine, it should come as no surprise, but then again these weren’t your run-of-the-mill dumplings. the world renowned taiwanese dumpling house din tai fung, frequented for its juicy soup dumplings, set up shop in the flushing sheraton hotel for two weeks as part of its international gastronomic tour de force. in today’s world of complex and intimidating menu choices, it was comforting to see a simple checklist of dumplings and side dishes. sure, the selection ranged from juicy pork or red bean to shrimp shomai, but each was remarkably flavorful and skillfully prepared, that one couldn’t go wrong… even with the crab. so tasty, it was worth the deadly allergic reaction.
