Let the pre-pubescent Alma Mater smack-talk begin: Newsweek and MSNBC have compiled a list of the 100 Best High Schools in America.
This cracker was a complete geek back in the halcyon days of lockers-and-cafeteria-lunches at Anderson High (ranked #298). Instead of smoking pot and getting laid, I rocked both the Star Wars Club (co-founding member) and school newspaper, The Edition (which won 3rd place in nationals when I edited my senior year).
Stop laughing. I mean it.
Anyway, in a similar yet sweatier vein, CU-buddy and fellow Texas-Ex — Gene Menez — helps Sports Illustrated rank the Best High School Athletic Programs in the nation. Alas, no mention of the Trojans at Anderson High, but rich-kid-school Highland Park in Dallas tops the Texas school list at #16.
You see, posting about sports offsets that Star Wars club thing. Hopefully.
Finally — at the collegiate-level — SI recently ranked Texas the #1 Best Sports College and Austin the #3 Best College Sports Town. Boom.
How did your school(s) fare in the various lists?

Alas, Theo and I’s Memorial High School in Houston, TX dropped down to #133 from #1. must be the MTV “wigger” factor these days. At least they still have cheerleaders.
My high school had 1 asphalt basketball court for 2000 people. Dat’s it. Plus it was in Spain. So I am gessing it’s pretty low in that list (maybe top 50, right?).
But at least, we were not nearly as Nerdy as your ass…
